Eternal
Riches |

|
|
|
We
believe in maximizing our money...that's what this site is all
about. However, there's a problem. We can learn to
be incredible with our personal finances during your life (which
you should). But, after a lifetime of discipline, our
money is left to other people when we die. Proper estate
planning will provide for our money to be transferred to our
family and/or worthy causes. But what about our eternal
"retirement"? |
|
|
|
The
editors of Plain Finances believe that there is life after
life...and that it is eternal. In this afterlife, what
will we do to provide for ourselves like we have done in our
earthly lives? Many people think that we must devote
ourselves to good deeds to earn our way into a good standing in
the afterlife. They think that if we do enough
"good" deeds, they can cancel out their
"bad" deeds and have a "positive net worth"
in heaven. |
|
|
 |
Nothing
wrong with good deeds. The only trouble with this is, how
do we ever know for sure if we have done enough good deeds to
have a "positive net eternal worth?" Also,
who knows for sure that a "good" deed can cancel out a
"bad" deed? The fact is, He calls all of us
"sinners" in that we have not done what is required to
please Him. He demands perfection...and none of us are
perfect. Isn't there a better, surer way to prepare for
the afterlife? |

 |
God
offers a sure way to have eternal riches. He
extends an offer for these eternal riches and provision to
anyone, regardless of race, color, or creed. His offer is
not based upon good deeds, because He knows that none of us
could ever do enough good deeds to obtain eternal riches.
This offer is not like most offers...where we have to promise
something of equal value. (How could we ever give
something to God that would compensate for His eternal
riches?) |

Essentially,
God sent His only Son, Jesus, into the world to live a
perfect life, then to die on the cross in our place and
thus pay the penalty for our failure. This happened
because God says that the penalty of not pleasing Him (sin) is
death...eternally. However, the good news is, Jesus
succeeded!...He paid the price! Then, after paying
the price, He came back to life and now lives with His Father in
heaven. So, when we turn to God, and admit to Him that we
have failed and that we believe on His Son's payment instead of
trying to pay for heaven ourselves (with good deeds, etc.), we
are made a part of God's family because of what Jesus did...God
also assures our place in heaven. And, this is without a
doubt the best retirement package ever! |
